I have been the Minnesota Research Data Center Administrator since 2012. I earned my Ph.D. in Sociology and my MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota in 2012 and 2014 respectively. My research examines how work and family intersect to influence individual well-being across the US population and how social structures produce unequal outcomes in these areas.

I have worked for the MPC since its inception in 2000, and prior to that I worked as a research assistant on the Historical Census Projects. I am now the Associate Director of the MPC and founding Co-Director of the Minnesota Research Data Center. Throughout my career, I have been involved in the creation of several MPC infrastructure projects, and my own research focuses on historical demography and marriage formation in the United States.

I received my Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Massachusetts. My research and teaching interests include quantitative methodology, social epidemiology, and research ethics. I have authored many research papers addressing the intersection of social science and health and the highly acclaimed 2006 text, Methods in Social Epidemiology (now in revision).
